The Windrush Caribbean Film Festival comes to Brixton with an evening that explores the power of food to shape identity, inspire entrepreneurship and connect generations.
We will screen three compelling films – Sugar Dumplin, Burnt Milk and Roots of Resilience – each highlighting how food is more than nourishment. It is memory, healing, history and heritage. These cinematic stories set the stage for a powerful conversation about building a food business rooted in Caribbean culture.
Panel Discussion
Following the screenings, join us for a 50-minute panel with two exceptional Caribbean food entrepreneurs. Together they will discuss:
How Caribbean culinary traditions shaped their path into business
The challenges and achievements of building a food enterprise in Britain
What it means to honour cultural roots while growing a brand
How the values of belonging, being and becoming influence their work and legacy
This event will resonate with food lovers, aspiring entrepreneurs and anyone interested in Caribbean culture and storytelling.
